Dollhouse Remodeling!

I have had this dollhouse sitting around for a few years. It’s HUGE! My step mom gave it to us and I could see the potential in it, but I couldn’t make up my mind on what color to paint it. I was thinking of painting it three colors, or at least two. And I just couldn’t make up my mind on which colors would be best. And then a few weeks ago I saw a house tour on someones blog ( I think it was on Bleubird Vintage…such an awesome blog!) and in a little girl’s bedroom they had a dollhouse that was all white! And that’s how I decided to paint ours white. My daughter, who is nearly 6yrs old now, helped me sand it down a bit and then paint it. It was very messy and I just let her do her thing with minimal instruction, because honestly, I don’t know much about painting. We had fun! We got some paint in our hair… And now the dollhouse looks sweet and modern. We love it. Our littlest one seems to love it the most. …We still have some work to do fixing some railings on the balcony and getting some fake flowers to put in the flower boxes, but I wanted to post about it now!

  1. I love the all white. Look around the house for odds and ends like large wooden thread spools for tables, weaved place mats – make good shades, or rug when cut to size. Even the plastic insert people get when they order a pizza makes a great tiny table. I’ve even used wallpaper books from discontinued lines(ask the store they may just give the old ones away). Love the job you’ve done already. Keep us posted.
